In the same way, the Spirit helps also our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself, intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts, know what the mind of the Spirit is saying, because He intercedes for the Saints, according to the will of God.
-Romans 8:26 - 27

My sister, Vanessa (lovingly called Nessy), used to say that sometimes life’s
journey is so challenging that you cannot find the right words in prayer. She says in
times like that, she just moans and believes that it is at that moment that God hears and
answers her prayer. What a wonderful approach to prayer! What about you? How do
you pray? Do you pray with your eyes open … closed or either way? What do you say?
Dr. Richard Pratt proclaimed that “prayer” is one of our greatest blessings and
one of our biggest struggles. So many people complain and steer away from praying
because they believe that it is some “magic bullet”. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Prayer is merely a believer’s communication with God. That’s it! Please do not be
misled into thinking that you must use fancy words – or long monologues – or some
specific pattern. Just – TELL God what you want to say. Tell Him that you trust Him – let
Him know that you are aware of your weaknesses – ask for forgiveness and thank Him
not because of you – but despite of you. Whether it is asking for something, asking for
forgiveness or just saying HELLO to God, He knows what is in your heart – so just –
PRAY!
